Holiday baking

Last year my room-mate and I made cookies. Lots of cookies: hundreds of cranberry-chocolate macaroons, lemon-drops, chocolate chip... I baked for days. This year, we decided to stick with chocolate. Fast, easy, and delicious. So far, I don't hear anyone complaining.

We started off with dark chocolate , dried cherries, apricots and macadamia nuts. We ran into a little snafu as I originally bought unsweetened baking chocolate but this became apparent as soon as we sampled the chocolate (yuck!). If anyone has a great recipe that needs a pound or so of unsweetened dark chocolate, let me know!

Next, milk chocolate with dried blueberries, cranberries, raisins, cashews, peanuts and pecans (our own version of the fruit and nut bar).

The prettiest of them all: white chocolate, cranberry, apricot and almonds.

Finally, for christmas, milk chocolate, mini-oreo cookies, and smashed candy-cane. Hammering the candy canes into pieces may have been the most fun of all!
